• Do I use voice commands such as “comma”, “full-stop” and “new paragraph”?

  No, you just speak normally and Joy Notes will format the text for you automatically. We’ve chosen this approach to make it as quick and easy as possible to get that note down. Joy Notes will make very short paragraphs of one or two sentences automatically. Some prefer longer paragraphs and be in control of when a new paragraph starts, so we’ve made that possible too by using the voice command “New paragraph”. • I don’t like the short paragraphs, can I decide for myself when a new paragraph starts?

  Yes you can. You have the option to tell Joy Notes when to start a new paragraph, or let it make short paragraphs automatically. This is how each option works: 1. Decide when a new paragraph starts: Simply say “New paragraph” or “New section”, and Joy will start a new paragraph and continue to put everything you say in that same paragraph until you say “New paragraph” again. 2. • How to create a note

  Press the +New button. If you get a pop-up asking to give access to your microphone, press ‘Allow’ Press the ‘Start’ button and simply start talking. You don’t need to use any voice commands such as “full-stop” or “comma” or “New paragraph”, it will automatically format the text for you. • Can I speak in any language when I record my note?

  Currently Joy Notes works well in English and in Swedish. You can change the language as you record a new note.Few readers

• How do I name my note?

  Once you finished your recording, you will be asked to name your note. For ease there will be a default note name (existing of the weekday and time) pre-filled. If you are happy with that name, just press Save. If you want a different name, e.g. the number or name of your client, just type over the text in the Note name box with anything you want, and then press save.Few readers

• Can I re-name a note afterwards?

  No, once you have named the note and saved it, you can no longer change the name of the note.Few readers

• What happens if I click on “Request Improvement”?

  If something strange has happened and the transcribed text doesn't look like it usually does (e.g. formatting issues, quality issues etc), you can send it in to have it re-transcribed by pressing "Request Improvement". We will return the edited note to you in maximum 24h during office hours (usually within a couple of hours). You find this in the ‘more actions’ menu (three dots) in the note view.Few readers

• How do I delete a note?

  A note can be deleted from the ‘more actions’ (three dots) menu in the note view.Few readers

• How do I download a recording?

  Your recording can be downloaded from the ‘more actions’ (three dots) menu in the note view. When you download the recording it will be stored locally on your computer (usually in the Downloads folder).Few readers

• Why is my note empty?

  If your note is empty, the most likely cause is that your microphone was not switched on and nothing was recorded in the first place. How you can check if your mic is on: Download the recording (you can find this option in the the menu to the right) and listen to the recording. If it’s silent, you need to turn your microphone on. • The stop button doesn't work, I can't save my note!

  Did you finish recording your note but the 'stop'-button doesn't work? Stuck in a loop and not able to save the recording? This can happen on some devices, in particular iPhones, when Joy Notes is interrupted. We apologise if this has happened to you. It's something we are working to resolve, but in the meantime here are some tips to avoid this: Make sure the screen auto-lock doesn't kick in mid recording if you make a longer recording. • Can I record the entire therapy session?

  Joy Notes in its current configuration is intended to be used by you as a professional dictating a summary note. Recording an entire conversation between two or more people will not give an easy to read note at this point in time. However, we are exploring this feature for the future; both to record entire conversations and to make a handy summary in the format you prefer.
